Kathmandu, Nepal – In a groundbreaking move for Nepalese football, Pradip Humagain, a seasoned and accomplished coach, has officially applied for the position of the Nepal National Football Team Head Coach.

Pradip Humagain has already had the opportunity to lead the Nepal National Team. During his tenure, he guided Nepal in an international match against Bangladesh, where Nepal made history by scoring three goals in a 3-1 victory. This marked the first time Nepal had ever scored three goals against Bangladesh, further solidifying Humagain’s reputation as a game-changing coach capable of delivering record-breaking performances on the international stage.

In addition to his impressive club-level coaching, Humagain’s extensive coaching career spans across multiple successful campaigns. He led Three Star Club to a historic league victory in 2012/13, along with winning prestigious tournaments like the Aaha Rara Gold Cup and Udayapur Gold Cup. Known for his aggressive coaching style, he has continually brought success to his teams, including his tenure at Church Boys United, where his team remains undefeated under his leadership.

Earlier in 2023, Humagain represented the Bhutanese Youth Sports Club, achieving remarkable results by reaching the finals in all five matches and securing four wins. His tactical prowess and resilience were showcased when his team defeated Sankata to claim the Bagmati Gold Cup title, even after narrowly losing to them in the previous match.

Beyond football, Humagain’s academic achievements are equally impressive. He holds three master’s degrees in sociology, health education, and physical education, which provide him with a well-rounded perspective on player development and team dynamics. His diverse educational background is complemented by his multilingual skills, as he speaks fluent English, Spanish, Hindi, and Nepali, further enhancing his ability to communicate and connect with players from various backgrounds.

For the past 16 months, Humagain has been away from his family and home country, focusing on his coaching career and academic growth. As he steps forward as a candidate for the national team’s head coach, there is a sense of optimism surrounding the potential impact his leadership could have on Nepal’s football future.
