NADF Extends Its Working Committee
The Nepalese Australian Democratic Forum (NADF) has appointed new members to its central committee. The organization has also planned several programs to be carried out in the near future. These decisions were made during a meeting chaired by the Chairperson of the forum, Dr. Gyanendra Regmi. NADF is one of the oldest organizations of the Nepalese community in Australia.
Kanchan Pokharel has been appointed as the Public Officer, and Satya Prakash Kandel as the Spokesperson of the organization. Dr. Manoj Singh, Dinesh Bhattarai, Pranay Gurung, Bharat Kandel, Rajendra Roka, Puru Sadaula, Purushottam Adhikari, Raju Giri, Rajan Lamsal, Kiran Adhikari, Prabin Chaurasiya, Vijay Neupane, Sabin Thapaliya, Bishal Pokharel, and Shiva Tiwari have been nominated as members of the working committee.
General Secretary Hari Krishna Adhikari and the Deputy Chairperson of NADF have been tasked with recommending a suitable female candidate to act as the Social and Cultural Coordinator of NADF.
NADF has also decided to conduct discussion programs on various social and political issues, continuing the forum’s legacy. These discussion programs will be held both face-to-face and as online webinars.
The NADF is also organizing an event to mark the New Year and ‘Melmilap Diwas.’ ‘Melmilap Diwas’ is a historical event that calls for reconciliation among Nepalese of all ideologies and walks of life in the interest of Nepal. Initiated by BP Koirala, Nepal’s former Prime Minister and a prominent leader of the Nepali Congress, ‘Melmilap Diwas’ aims to prioritize Nepal’s national interests above all else and foster harmony among Nepalese. The program will also be attended by Kishor Singh Rathor, Deputy General Secretary of the Nepali Congress, and another senior leader of the Nepali Congress, Bal Bahadur KC, who are currently in Australia.
NADF has also expressed its condolences over the passing of the mother of Hari Adhikari, the General Secretary of the forum.
Established even before the Nepali Embassy was founded in Australia, NADF has long been recognized as an institution dedicated to fostering discussions on democratic values among Nepalis in Australia and contributing to Nepal’s democracy.
